SANTA MARIA

Obituary

Victoria "Vickie" Murillo Roybal, known for her caring spirit, giving heart, and infectious personality passed away on January 2, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Vickie was born and raised in Santa Maria and attended local schools in the area. It is here where she met many people who became lifelong friends. In her younger years she also met people while being a Girl Scout, during her time with the Los Padres National Forestry, and working at Auto Body Parts Specialty.

In 1985 she met her husband of 36 years Jeff Roybal. From the moment they met they were inseparable. They were not only husband and wife but the very best of friends. They never left each other's side until the very end. They shared a love that you hear about in an oldie love song. A love that lasted the test of time.

At the age of 20 Vickie started her care taking career and she eventually became a Certified Nurse Assistant for 40 years. She dedicated 31 years to taking care of the ill and elderly at County Oaks Care Center and there became a Restorative Nursing Assistant. She took care of many friends and families loved ones and made sure they had the best of care in their last days. She grew attached to her residents and would become deeply saddened when they passed. It was not just a job it was her passion.

Although Vickie was small in stature her heart was twice as big. She showed her love for others by giving anything she could to make you feel special and loved. On her days off she would spend time taking food to people, stopping by if you were sick, or simply just to make sure you were okay. Her personality was so infectious to the point where you would laugh so hard while being around her until your stomach hurt. She loved music, loved to dance and have a good time. Often times she was the life of the party even if she didn't mean to be.

In the last two years her health was not the best, but this didn't stop her from checking on her friends and family and attending family gatherings. The loss of Vickie is felt by many, and she will be dearly missed by all those who loved her.

She is survived by her Husband and lifelong partner of 38 years Jeff Roybal, Mother Minga Ceja, and Father Albert (Yolanda) Murillo. Her sisters Virginia Scozzari and Liza (Ray) Perez, Brothers David and Johnny Murillo. As well as nieces and nephews Rochelle, Angela, Kandace, Frankie, Sonny, Adrian, Raymond, Leroy and Elroy

Vickie is proceeded in death by her Stepfather Raul Ceja, Grandparents Nicholas and Ninfa Cepeda, and Manual and Paz Murillo.
