Robert J.
Tagle
May 10, 1955 — Mar 30, 2025
Santa Maria
Robert (Bobby) Tagle, 69, our beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend peacefully went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ on March 30, 2025. Bobby fought a short-term illness about 8-weeks prior to his death. Bobby was born May 10, 1955, in San Bernardino, CA he was the youngest of seven. He graduated from Cajon High School and shortly afterwards he moved to Santa Maria in the 70's along with his parents.
Bobby had a kind heart; his family and friends meant the world to him; he was dearly loved by all that knew him. Bobby worked as a custodian and retired from Greka Oil & Gas where he left many good friends he often spoke fondly of. After retiring, Bobby was a full-time caregiver for his brother, Fernando, in addition, he sacrificed his weekends assisting with the care of his sister, Kiki.
Bobby's favorite day of the year was HIS birthday, he was sure to remind you in advance to plan a party for him. He was specific in his wishes. Bobby was so grateful when his friend John Montez at Greka went the extra mile at work to have a birthday BBQ feast, he talked about it for months.
His favorite hobbies were going to the theatre, listening to and collecting music. Godzilla and King Kong were his all-time favorite movies. He loved old school and classic rock. He could name that tune and the artist is a few seconds! He really enjoyed home cooked food, he loved to eat and demanded to be served and always enjoyed a second round. It was a pleasure to cook for him and we always had plenty of laughter while sharing a meal at the table. However, he did enjoy fast food more than anyone knew, as we once found 15 chili cheese fries, 12 corn dogs and chili dogs from Der Wienerschnitzel secretly stashed in his refrigerator. Bobby and his older brother Fernando were especially close, a bond that was inseparable, they did everything together. They were like the odd couple, funny, fighting, always joking amongst themselves, Fernando the Navy guy and Bobby the Army guy. Bobby was the type of person that when invited with a 10-minute notice he would show up 20-minutes early, go figureJ. You can always depend on him to be there for all occasions, he will truly be missed, always loved and forever in our hearts!
Bobby is survived by his sister, Mary (Kiki) Mediano, brothers: Freddie Tagle and Fernando Tagle; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Bobby is preceded in death by his Parents: Moses and Luz Tagle Siblings: Yolanda Escarzaga, George Tagle, David Tagle In-laws: Henry Escarzaga, Martha Tagle, Sal Mediano Sr. Nephews and Nieces: Sal Mediano Jr., George Tagle Jr. and Neveah Hilbrant.
Bobby will be laid to rest on Monday, May 5th, 2025 at 2 p.m. at the Santa Maria Cemetery, 1501 S. College Drive, Santa Maria, California.
