Nian James Gonzales passed away on November 26, 2025, in his home in Santa Maria, CA at the age of 39.
In 2000, Nian met the love of his life. Lisa and Nian were inseparable at the age of 14. They were complete opposites but were exactly what each other needed. They grew up together, they learned how to navigate life, to love deeply, and the meaning of friendship. They celebrated 24 wonderful years of being together. They both worked hard to build a life around laughter, happiness, and fun times together. On July 28, 2012 Nian and Lisa got married and later had two beautiful daughters, Jaylin and Ava.
Nian was born in Santa Barbara, California on March 16,1986. He graduated from Dos Pueblos High School in 2004. He worked for The Beaver Company, in Santa Barbara for almost a decade. He loved working outside with his hands and had a passion for trees. He continued his love for nature and started working for Santa Barbara County in 2017 as a maintenance 1 worker. He continued to climb the ladder and moved up to Maintenance 2, heavy machinery operator and then to a Maintenance Leader. Nian loved his job and everyone he worked with.
Nian was known for his big heart and for loving everyone around him unconditionally. He was the glue in every aspect of his friends and families lives.To be known by Nian was to be loved by him. He was funny and was such a big kid at heart. Nian was a remarkable person who touched so many people's lives.
Nian is survived by his wife: Lisa Marie Gonzales; Daughters: Jaylin Mia Gonzales, Ava Lily Gonzales; Mother: Angela Musick; Sisters: Rianna Gonzales; Venessa Gonzales; Brother: Travis Gonzales; and Grandmother: Jeanette Gonzales. Nian is preceded in death by his Grandfather: Lucio Gonzales.
A memorial service will be held on January 30, 2026, at 10am at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Nipomo CA; 298 S. Thompson Avenue, Nipomo CA 93444. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall
