Hernandez
Aug 29, 1969 — Oct 8, 2025
Santa Maria
Mark Anthony Hernandez went to be home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 8, 2025. Surrounded by his beloved wife Rosa and son, Markie Emmanuel and Siblings and spouses. He was ushered into the Lord's presence peacefully with Praise and reciting the word of God. Mark was born in San Bernardino, California, on August 29, 1969. Moving to Santa Maria, California in 1972. He attended local schools in Orcutt, Graduating from Ernest Righetti High School in 1989. He worked as a correctional officer for CMC in San Luis Obispo for 26 years, retiring in October of 2023.
Mark was a devoted servant of Christ. A loving father and husband to his wife Rosa and his son Markie Emmanuel. He was the youngest of seven siblings. Jessica (Johnny) Castillo, JoAnn (Raymond) Acosta, Theresa ( Ron) McCoy, Laura H. Ortiz, Martha ( Gabriel) Morales and Alvie R. Hernandez. Numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Reunited with his parents Alvaro B Hernandez and Felicitas H. Hernandez In heaven!
Mark loved spending time with family and close friends- He took long drives through out the Central Coast. He and Rosa spent a lot of time with their son Markie, who was the love of their life, Mark's pride and joy. He loved to hang out with his sisters and in-laws, and their families: having SM style BBQ and get togethers fellowship and lots of food. He enjoyed eating and breaking bread, no matter where he went. Mark was an easy going person, very caring and very affectionate toward his family, friends and even people he just met. He had a kind heart and was very generous. Mark was always ready to share Christ or talk about how good God was. His favorite quote of the day was : Thank the Lord for another beautiful day! We're alive and in good health! ( even when he was going through some health problems) His favorite scriptures he liked and quoted were Psalms 121, Ephesians 6:10 Be strong in God in the power of his might.. the whole armor of God. Proverbs 28:14. Many more he had.
In his light we find comfort, In this we know 2 Corinthians 5:8- Yes we are of good courage , and we would rather be away from the body and home with the Lord. We won't say goodbye, our beloved Mark we will say we will see you soon!
