Luis Nunez Moreno
August 24, 1952 - December 28, 2025

Luis Nunez Moreno of Santa Maria, California, passed away on Sunday, December 28, at Marian Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was 73 years old.

Lovingly nicknamed "El Chicano" by his father, Luis was a proud husband, a father, grandfather, recent great-grandfather, and brother. He will be missed more than words can express.

A native of Santa Maria, Luis was born on August 24, 1952, to Isac and Inez Moreno. He graduated from Ernest Righetti High School in 1971.

Raised in Guadalupe, Luis was a hard worker from a young age. In his teenage years, he worked in the fields of Santa Maria. After high school, he held a variety of jobs, including a cleaner at Vandenberg Air Force Base, a warehouse worker at Union Sugar, and a maintenance worker for the city of Santa Maria, where he worked until his retirement in 2020.

Luis married his high school sweetheart, Bricelda Moreno, in 1971. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising two loving sons, Luis Moreno Jr. and David Moreno. Luis and Bricelda were married for 54 years until his passing.

Luis was predeceased by his parents, Isac and Inez, and three siblings: Tony Moreno, Isac Moreno Jr., and Sarita Moreno. He is survived by his wife, Bricelda, of Santa Maria; his two sons, Luis Moreno (Mayra) and David Moreno; and eight siblings: Henry Infante (Angie), Jesse Moreno (Donna), Tommy Moreno (Peggy), Gloria Rocha (Chon), Richard Moreno (Valerie), Margarita Contreras (Julian), and Olga Garcia (Vidal). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Dallis Moreno, David Moreno Jr., Michael Moreno, River Moreno, and Natalee Reynoso; great-grandchild Angel Moreno; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
