Obituary

Jessie Ramona De Leon , 90, went home to be with the Lord, on December 13, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born in Freer, Texas, on March 5, 1935, and later made her home in Pismo Beach, California.

Jessie was a devoted mother to Mario De Leon, Waldo De Leon, Lydia Salinas, Joe De Leon, Lucy Anaya, and Bita De Leon . She was a proud grandmother to 20 grandchildren, and a cherished great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother to many more. She shared her life with her loving lifelong partner, Charles Brandt .

The eldest of her siblings, Jessie is survived by Minerva . She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Manuel and Guadalupe De La Garza ; her sisters Thila, Norma, and Carmen ; and her late husband, Mario De Leon .

Jessie's greatest joy was her family. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life, as were her beloved dog Toby and her cats. She was known for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering faith. Jessie never let anyone leave her home without saying "God bless you" and offering the sign of the cross.

She loved old-school Country, Tejano, and Mariachi music, which reminded her of her childhood. Jessie enjoyed dancing, singing, and celebrating life. A true Texas cowgirl, she proudly wore her cowboy boots, western wear, and turquoise jewelry. She had a heart of gold and was always ready to offer a bowl of her famous beans or chicken soup to anyone who walked through her door. Jessie welcomed everyone with open arms, never judged, and always spoke the truth with love.

We take comfort in knowing she is dancing in heaven, letting out her joyful grito, as we continue to dance with her in spirit. Until we meet again, we love you and miss you dearly.
