It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of Jack Van Bergen's passing on January 24, 2026.

Jack was born in San Francisco, California, on November 17, 1934. He completed his high school education at Palo Alto High School (Paly) and subsequently pursued Hispanic American Studies at Stanford University in Palo Alto, where he was also a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Jack furthered his education at the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, Arizona.

Jack shared 66 years of marriage with Leanore Van Bergen (Houk). Their journey together began when they met in Palo Alto on December 27, 1958, and they were married precisely one year later, on December 27, 1959.

Jack dedicated 27 years of his career to international work for Bank of America, during which he and his family embarked on adventures in the Caribbean, England, and Central and South America. Following his retirement from Bank of America, Jack contributed his expertise to First Valley Bank and Community Bank of Santa Maria. He found joy in fishing, attending musicals, and cheering on the San Francisco 49ers.

Jack is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lee, his three daughters and sons-in-law, six grandchildren, and two nephews.
