Dawnie Koehn was born on July 1, 1944 in Clovis, California. She was the daughter of Veldon and Hazel Patten. She spent many years growing up on the Mono Indian reservation where her parents were missionaries. From there she moved to Oakland so that her father could finish his studies working on mission fields. A few years later they were back to serving on the Mono reservation. The next experience for Dawnie came with the move to Billings, Montana where they served on the Crow Agency Indian reservation. While there she attended and graduated from Hardin High School. She attended Ottawa University where she found a love of synchronized swimming and diving. She later worked as a respiratory therapist at KU Med Center. She met and married Kirk Tucker and they had their two children Nicol (Angel) and Kord. After the marriage ended she moved back to California. She worked at Halcyon Medical Group. While attending a Bible Study she met her love, Cliff Koehn. They were married in 1980 and spent the next 46 years loving and caring for each other. Dawnie had a love of old hymns and a desire to learn about her Savior through reading scripture. She was a leader in Christian Womens group. Her faith and walk with Jesus was always her main focus. She attended Grace Bible Church for 21 years and enjoyed her close friends in her Bible Study. The women in her Bible Study were always an amazing source of love and support to Dawnie and her family. She had a gift for helping people in need. She made everyone feel loved and like they were part of the family. She spent many hours of her day cultivating her flowers. Her greatest joy in life were her granddaughters and her great granddaughter. While she suffered many health setbacks she continued to preserve and have a beautiful positive attitude. She was an amazing role model for her children, grandchildren and anyone whom she had contact with. She was preceded in death by her father and mother and many aunts and uncles. A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Bible Church, 100 Rodeo Drive, Arroyo Grande, CA, September 16, 2025 @ 2:00 p.m.
