Adelfa was born on January 17, 1935, in Pharr, Texas, to Jose Ventura and Josefa Garza. She met the love of her life, Rafael Jimenez, and they were married on November 25, 1956. In 1966, they made California their home, where they established deep roots and created countless cherished memories.
Adelfa worked as a laborer for more than 30 years before beginning a career as a cook at Marian Extended Care, where she remained until her retirement. She was known for her love of cooking and was especially famous among family and friends for her delicious tamales, homemade tortillas, and beloved Christmas cookies.
Adelfa found joy in attending church, spending time with her family, playing lotería, and visiting the casino. Her warm spirit, generosity, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Adelfa is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Rafael Jimenez; her children, Leticia (Abel) Oliva, Evangelina (Armando) Oliva, Rafael (Mary) Jimenez, Sylvia Alvarez, and Dalia Herrera; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Ventura and Josefa Garza; her sisters, Maria, Paula, Josefina, and Ramona; and her brothers, Francisco, and Erasmo.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.-8:00p.m. with a Rosary at 5:30pm at the chapel of Lori Family Mortuary.
